Tree Removal – Fareham

This job involved the removal of a large Monterey cypress (Macrocarpa) in Fareham. Over the years, the tree had been heavily pruned, which altered its structure, making it more vulnerable to failure. Previous storms had caused sections to break, and it was becoming a safety risk. To ensure a safe and efficient removal, we used a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) and rigging techniques to carefully lower large sections without damaging the surrounding area. The tree was taken down in two days, with a third day needed to process the timber. The customer chose to keep all the wood, while we chipped and removed all the brash material, leaving the site clean and tidy.

Instant Beech Hedge Planting – Romsey

A customer in Romsey had put up a 6ft fence for privacy but was asked to remove it due to planning restrictions. After discussing their options, we recommended an instant beech hedge as a natural and compliant alternative.

We sourced 6ft tall beech plants that were ready to be planted as a hedge, providing the customer with immediate privacy while staying within the planning regulations. Over time, the hedge will establish itself as a beautiful, easy-to-maintain boundary that also benefits local wildlife, offering shelter and food for birds.

This solution not only met the customer's needs but also enhanced their garden with a natural, long-lasting feature

Overgrown Conifer Hedge Removal – Chandlers Ford

This job involved removing an overgrown Leylandii hedge that had taken up too much space in the customer's garden. Over time, the hedge had become unmanageable, and it was also affecting the health of several silver birch trees growing among it. The dense Leylandii was restricting light and space, causing the birch trees to struggle.

We carefully removed all the Leylandii, ensuring the birch trees remained untouched. The result? A brighter, more open garden with extra space and improved light, allowing the birch trees to thrive and the customer to enjoy a more usable outdoor area.

Mature Oak Reduction – Southampton

This job involved reducing a mature oak tree after a large limb failure. To achieve the best possible outcome for the tree, we used a combination of MEWP and climbing techniques, allowing us to work efficiently while preserving the tree’s natural form.

Our approach was to prune as lightly as possible, ensuring we didn’t compromise the tree’s photosynthetic ability to produce energy. The goal was to restore a more symmetrical canopy while maintaining a natural appearance, promoting long-term health and structural stability.

The result was a well-balanced tree that remained strong, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.

Large Hedge Reduction – Southampton

This job involved reducing the height and reshaping a large, overgrown hedge in Southampton. The hedge had become too tall and wide, making it difficult to manage, so we focused on bringing it down to a more practical and tidy size.

Due to its width, we used a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) to safely and efficiently access all areas, ensuring a precise and even reduction. Our goal was to restore a neat, structured shape while keeping the hedge healthy and dense.

The end result was a well-maintained, more manageable hedge that still provided great privacy while looking much cleaner and more uniform.

Emergency Birch Removal – Southampton

We were called out by a commercial client after a birch tree had fallen in strong winds, completely blocking access to a car park. With residents unable to get in or out.

Our team responded promptly, safely clearing the fallen tree and debris within a few hours of the client reaching out. The site was left clean and accessible, minimizing disruption for the residents.

This job highlights our ability to respond fast to emergencies, ensuring safety and swift resolution for our clients.

Large Dead Cedar Removal – Southampton

This job involved the removal of a large dead cedar in Southampton. Unfortunately, the tree had died, and due to its proximity to a neighboring property, removal was necessary to ensure safety.

We used a MEWP to carefully take down the sections growing over the neighboring property, minimizing risk and preventing any damage. The remaining tree was climbed and rigged down in sections to safely manage the removal process.

All brash was chipped and removed from the site, while the wood was left for the customer to make full use of. The smaller timber was cut into manageable pieces for firewood, and the larger sections were left in long lengths so they could be milled into usable material in the future. We love when a customer chooses to make use of the tree’s raw materials—it’s a great way to give the wood a second life!

Managing Ash Dieback Near a Public Footpath - Meon

This project involved addressing ash dieback on a client’s property, which bordered a public footpath. Several trees were in declining health, posing a potential risk to pedestrians, so it was essential to take proactive measures.

We used a MEWP to carefully reduce the height of affected trees, minimizing the risk of failure near the footpath. The terrain was extremely challenging, pushing the MEWP to its limits, but with careful setup, we were able to safely access many of the trees.

For trees that were out of reach of the MEWP, we climbed where it was safe to do so. In cases where climbing wasn’t an option, trees were felled in a controlled manner. The job took multiple days and required a mix of different techniques to complete efficiently.

The result was a safer public footpath and a satisfied customer who could rest assured that the trees no longer posed a danger to those passing through.

Overgrown Garden Clearance – Hythe

This job involved clearing an overgrown garden for a customer moving into a new property. The garden had been left untended for some time, with overgrown trees and vegetation completely shading out the space, making it feel dark and uninviting.

We carried out a full clearance, removing excessive growth and trimming back the trees to allow more natural light into the garden.

This gave the customer a clean slate to start fresh and transform the space into something they could truly enjoy.

The end result was a brighter, more open garden, ready for a new beginning!

Mini Crane Tree Removal – Southampton

This was one of our favorite jobs to date! We were called in to remove a dangerous tree that was growing over two neighboring properties in Southampton. With a highly restrictive access point, we needed a solution that would allow for a safe and controlled removal without causing disruption or mess to the neighbors.

We decided to bring in a mini compact crane, which allowed us to lift and lower sections of the tree directly into the client’s property. This method ensured that all material was carefully handled without impacting the surrounding properties. Despite its small size, the crane was incredibly powerful, making the job efficient, precise, and safe.

A fantastic example of how the right equipment can make all the difference, and a job we’re really proud of!

Large Oak Tree Removal – Petersfield

This job involved the removal of two large oak trees in Petersfield due to subsidence issues affecting a nearby property. Given their proximity to the residence, we needed a safe and efficient method to dismantle them with minimal risk.

To achieve this, we used a Merlo telehandler equipped with a specialist cutting head that allowed us to grab and cut branches in a controlled manner. This approach ensured the trees were taken down safely and efficiently without unnecessary disruption.

For the larger timber sections, we brought in our MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform), which allowed us to position ourselves precisely for making cuts. The MEWP also played a key role in training one of our junior climbers, giving them the chance to set straps and make supervised cuts under the guidance of our senior climber.

Once the trees were down, the large timber was taken away in full sections and delivered to a mill, where it will be processed into usable material, ensuring the wood is repurposed rather than wasted.

We believe that hands-on, controlled training is essential for developing skilled climbers, and this job was a great example of how we integrate training into real-world work while maintaining safety and efficiency.
